JACKASS - Plastic Jesus (BYO Records 2004)

JACKASS - Plastic Jesus (BYO Records 2004) 13 songs on this record with the American band Jackass. Guitar based country punk or what we call kopunk (cowpunk), with lot of nice guitar harmonies, sounds a little bit like Johnny Cash on speed. Cool harmonies in the vocal performances to. Their own material except 2 covers, one is "Music" by Madonna and "I want it that way" the Backstreet boys song. But a little downer to me are "Leg to stand on" that is a (in my ears) pretty ordinary country song with what sounds like an steelguitar, but I suppose that this one's needed so that you can hear the rest of the materials top level. But that one and the other material I think could be appreciated from country freaks to punks and in my ears this record's only getting better and better. "LosinŽ ground" pretty bodymoving, some melancholic feeling, and this answering singing in the refrain is great. "Fuck oŽdear" brilliant arse kicking country with a cool touch of what seems to be an energic banjo. "Music" and "I want it that way" I have been mention these covers before, but I'll do it again, because when you have been listening to this one's the original one's sounds very pale.
